Step #2 – Know your new life is forever!

“You accepted Me, I live in you”

Yes, your new life, your new relationship with Christ is forever! We know relationships come and go; friends, marriages, and even close family members. It is reasonable for us, being new to our relationship with Christ, to wonder if this will last.

Now, in your new relationship with God and when you keep Him first in your life, you have accepted Him as your Father and He has accepted you as His child. His love for you is never ending:

Hebrews 13:5 …“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

Establishing this relationship (see Step #1) is done this one time, in an instant! We do not have to prove it, work for it are fight to keep it. The moment you accepted Christ in faith, God accepted you.

Romans 3:22-24 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

It’s time to…..

Think about this and look what God shares about you before you accepted Christ:

You are against God

Romans 5:10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

You are helpless

Romans 5:6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

You are a sinner

Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

You are lost

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.

You are poor

Revelation 3:17 You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

You are not able to see (or understand)

2 Corinthians 4:4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

You are under God’s judgment (see The Meaning of Life for a complete message of His judgment.)

John 3:36 And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.

You are dead, because of your sin

Ephesians 2:1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins

You are foolish and a slave to your passions

Titus 3:3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

You have evil behaviors

Colossians 1:21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.

You are distant from God

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

You do not have hope

Ephesians 2:12 Remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

You are living in darkness

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Amen! Now that you have accepted Christ and a Spiritual relationship with Him, God tells us this:

You have peace with God!

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

You are God’s child!

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

You are forgiven! (for all your sin; before, now, and forever!)

Colossians 1:14 …in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins

You are close to God!

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

You are walking with His Holy Spirit in you!

Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit

You are living in light, not darkness!

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

You are in His Kingdom!

Colossians 1:13,14 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

God loves you!

1 John 4:9,10 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

John 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.

You will live forever!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God’s love is your protection and security!

Romans 8:38,39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God’s grace is forever upon you!

Ephesians 2:8,9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.

Christ is in your heart, you are walking in His Spirit!

Ephesians 3:17 …so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

God chose you!

Ephesians 1:4,5 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love crossed from death to life he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will

As God’s love that crossed from death to life when he predestined you for adoption, so to do you when you believe in Christ, you cross over from death to Life!

John 5:24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

Amen, you are alive in and one with Christ!

Ephesians 2:15 …by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace

God now sees you as His righteous one!

2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Yes, it’s that simple – forevermore, Christ will be lead you with all of His passion, care, love and protection!

John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Christ Jesus proclaimed His Message for You!

John 6:37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

John 10:28-30 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

Amen, forever in His loving hands, you are secure!

Now you know your new Life, your new Spiritual relationship with Christ Jesus is forever and your life will change as He pours out His blessings upon you (simply for accepting Him). You can stand firm and be confident as you experience His change in your life.

Philippians 1:6 Further being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Jesus carried your sins to death and when you accept this and accept Him as your savior, you have turned your life over to Him and He has accepted you. He then gives you the same victory to overcome sin with His full forgiveness, this instant and forevermore.

Your new Spiritual relationship is secure, not by what you do, but by God’s Grace and Jesus’ victory over death. Christ paid for your relationship with Him, overcoming the penalty of sin that was blocking your relationship with God. you are His child, blessed, forgiven, joined with Him, declared righteous in His eyes, because Christ Jesus already paid the cost of your sin. Yes, you will fall and sin. Often find yourself choosing to do things our way and not God’s way. By God’s Grace, this does not change the security of your Spiritual relationship with Christ. You can stand firm in this relationship, because of what God says:

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus overcame sin and death by returning to life and this is our Salvation! This is a freely given gift from God and is received once by faith. Yes, it’s that simple! At that moment you have a new Spiritual relationship with God that is yours forever.

Your relationship with Christ does not depend on personal holiness, levels of faith, sacrifices, good works or religious rituals. God is not expecting you to focus on looking holy or religious, He desires you to focus on Jesus and His Message for You. Jesus will then lead you and His character will be seen by others in you. This is how others see and find God. Through you!

Your Spiritual relationship is very different than those in this world. Your relationship with God, sealed for eternity, is because He led you (by His plan for you from the start of time) into this relationship.

In your new Spiritual relationship (and Life) you will know He is faithful and will keep His promises of blessings and eternal life:

1 Corinthians 1:9 says “God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

We know Christ Jesus has touched your heart and you will make a move!

In Christ Jesus’ Name, and in thanks for God’s Grace, we pray together in faith. Amen
