Continuing our Prayer Request for Cpl Michael Creighton – 2/27/2011

We continue to pray for US Marine Cpl Michael Creighton, his brother-in-law US Army Michael Nash, and all those honorably serving our country, protecting our freedom and standing in harms way in Afghanistan and around the world.

We also pray for their families and friends, especially Jennifer Creighton Nash and Amanda Baker and we thank them for posting this updated article on Cpl Creighton’s service in Afganistan:

Pendleton Marines maintain uneasy calm in battle-scarred Afghan town.

Our Hero, Cpl Michael Creighton

Requested by Susie Toscano for Marine Michael Creighton and the “Darkhorse” 3rd Battalion 5th Marines and their families:

Father, we pray together in faith for our home town hero, one of the Few and the Proud – US Marine Cpl Michael Creighton and his unit who are on the front lines and in battle in Afghanistan. We have Hope and Trust in your Word in Psalms 91 that it will accomplish what it says it will:

Psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the LORD, who is my refuge-
10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

Heavenly Father, Grant a courageous heart, a quick mind, and a serene spirit to Michael and to all those now in our armed forces, ready to offer their talents, and if necessary their lives, for the cause of truth, justice, and liberty. Keep them close to You in every way. Make them always, even in these difficult circumstances, true witnesses to Your goodness, love, and compassion. And finally, bring them safely back to their homes and families.

In Your Name Christ Jesus we pray, Amen

We sometimes think about and even consider the “religious” way of life, but are challenged by the seemingly odd or rigorous traditions, fanciness, reactionary and emotional behaviors we see going on in church, on television and even from folks standing on the corner or knocking on our doors. In today’s world of technology and information, we can easily educate ourselves and make our own decisions. Which we enjoy, and we should! If you are thinking about how religion, or in an easier term to understand, a spiritual life can help you, start with the simplest (and absolutely most important) information. His Message for You is here and ready for you now!!!!!
