Praying for 13yr old Rebekah Lovitt – 11/27/2011

Prayer request from Kim Mazur for her cousin’s daughter Rebekah Lovitt a wonderful young girl who enjoys singing, martial arts, playing with video games and being with people. Rebekah has Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and has developed severe scoliosis. For several years, this has been managed with a back brace, but now Rebekah is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and her breathing and digestion is compromised. Surgery can help with her condition and is scheduled for Monday, November 28th at 9:30 AM.

We know when we pray together in faith, supernatural blessings happen. Rebekah and her family have asks us all to please focus our prayers and thoughts for the best outcome for Rebekah.

We pray together in complete and total faith, with all of our strength, passion, love and Hope for Rebekah. We believe our Father blesses us with advanced technology in medicine and with skilled doctors, surgeons, and care givers and as He promises, He will take care of His young children, yes by His hands. We pray that Rebekah is protected from infection and that this surgery improves her posture, breathing, and digestion and leaves her fully functional and that her recovery is speedy.

Father, we have faith in your Healing Word and that Your Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We believe, in the name of Jesus, that Rebekah is surrounded and covered by Your Holy Spirit. We pray You bless her with Your Saving and Healing power, according to 1 Peter 2:24. Your Word explains that Jesus Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Therefore, with great boldness and confidence we say on the authority of Your written Word that Rebekah will be comforted now and healed, and that Your Love and Grace is upon her.

"I will heal you Rebekah"

We have the assurance of Your Word that Your Holy Spirit encamps around us and by Your Plan delivers us from sickness and injury. No evil shall befall us, no plague or calamity shall win over us. We confess Your Word abides in us and delivers to us perfect soundness of mind and wholeness in body and spirit from the deepest parts of our nature in our immortal spirit even to the joints and marrow of our bones. Your Word is medication and “Life” to our flesh for the law of the Spirit of Life operates in us and makes us free from the law of illness and injury.

Lord, we wear the armor of Your Word to protect us from all the fiery darts sent towards us. We praise You Jesus as the high Priest of our confession and we hold fast to our confession of faith in You and Your Word. We stand immovable and fixed in full assurance You will heal Rebekah. We pray you will bless her family and friends with the comfort only Your Holy Spirit can provide.

In Your name Lord and Christ Jesus we pray, Amen

In today’s world of technology and information, we can easily educate ourselves and make our own decisions. Which we enjoy, and we should! If you are thinking about how religion, or in an easier term to understand, a spiritual life can help you, start with the simplest (and absolutely most important) information. 1. Here is the most recent update posted on her care page…….she will need prayers this Thurs.
Thanks for them so far….please keep them coming…

Rebekah is stable, but the surgeon had to abort the procedure a bit before 3:00 because Rebekah’s blood pressure dropped significantly. Because there was no apparent cause, he felt it was better to stop for today and try again later after they’ve had time to figure out what the issue was. The surgeon had not yet begun to put the rod in so he closed her back and dressed it. She will remain intubated. She is now being moved to ICU. The surgeon thinks he’ll try again on Thursday.

This is disappointing news to say the least. It’s been an agonizing wait from the end of September when we decided to go ahead with the surgery to now. We were hoping that the wait would be over today.

Dan and I have appreciated all your messages of support. Keep them coming!
